Nursing Program Scholarships

Inspired by the personal impact of those who cared for James T. Perryman before he passed, Rose M. Perryman expanded our scholarships to include aspiring nurses. We support students pursuing certificates and two-year nursing programs as well as undergraduate degrees in nursing.

Award Amounts

For students pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree, an Associate Degree in Nursing, or completing an 18–24 month program to become a Registered Nurse (RN), typical scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000 per year.

For students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), typical scholarships range from $10,000 to $15,000 per year.

Eligible Programs

Students must plan to enroll in, or be accepted to, one of the following full-time nursing programs:

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

  • LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) / LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)

  • ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing)

  • RN (Registered Nurse – 18-24 month programs)

Candidate Qualifications

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must: 

  • Be a U.S. citizen.

  • Be a current or prospective undergraduate student pursuing a full-time, 18-month, two-year, or four-year degree program in an eligible program of study.​

  • Not be affiliated with the Perryman Company or Perryman Family Foundation through board service, current employment, or close relatives.

  • ​Currently live in one of these eligible counties located in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Western Maryland, or Chautauqua County, New York:

Preferred Qualifications

The following are preferred, but NOT required:

  • Attend, or plan to attend, a program, college, or university located in one of the eligible counties listed above.

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for a four-year program, or 2.5 for an 18-month or two-year program.

  • Have completed no more than five years of undergraduate studies.

  • Provide a high school diploma or similar credential, such as a GED or a federally approved “Ability to Benefit” Test.
