About Our Founders

James T. and Rose M. Perryman

Long before they founded a global titanium manufacturing company, James T. and Rose M. Perryman started as hardworking students at Eastern Illinois University.

Known for their entrepreneurial drive and commitment to community, James and Rose started a family, moved to Pittsburgh in 1970, and founded the Perryman Company, based in Houston, Pennsylvania, in 1988.

Together, they built a company committed to innovation, quality, and employee wellbeing. These values transformed the trajectory of their business – paving the way for manufacturing innovations ranging from automated hot rolling to the development of fully integrated titanium processing facilities.

Through the years, the Perrymans remained deeply invested in giving back. As lifelong learners, they were especially passionate about the power of education to transform lives and communities. In 2015, James and Rose established the Perryman Family Foundation to empower students pursuing education in fields that had shaped their own lives – and the strength of their region. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to over 100 students.

Inspired by the compassion of those who cared for James before he passed in 2020, Rose expanded the Foundation’s scholarships to benefit aspiring nurses in addition to STEM and metals students. Rose continued their shared mission until her passing in 2024, working tirelessly to support and inspire a new generation of community-minded leaders, who would one day pay it forward to help others succeed.

James and Rose met personally with many students over the years, watching with pride as the aspirations of many scholars became reality. Today, the Perrymans’ legacy lives on through their children, grandchildren, and soon their great-grandchildren – who continue the Foundation’s commitment to empowering the next generation of hardworking students.
